SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
Assistance to participate in both social and community activities
Social and community participation is about joining in activities in your community. It means having choice to be able to participate in activities you enjoy. Social and community participation also means different things to different people. It can include:
- Going to your local café
- Participating in sport
- Attending community events
- Bushwalking with a friend
- Doing an art class
- Attending work experience
- Participating in volunteer work
We provide flexible support services for participants to attend activities and participate in them. Our aim is to understand your interests, goals and support needs. If you are not sure of the types of activities that you may be interested in, we can help you to find out. We will always be respectful, ask what it is that you want to achieve and help to identify your goals.
Supports are accessed through your NDIS plan under either Core – Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation or Capacity Building – Increased Social & Community Participation. If your NDIS plan is self managed or plan managed and you are interested to find out more, give us a call.
